Hands up of you dread housework. Hands up if you keep procrastinating, till the last minute, till you are expecting guests or just can’t bare the state any more
… then when you’ve finally done it, wish you always had your house so nice, clean and tidy.
Well that would be me!
I hate a dirty house more than I hate an untidy housethough.
In the past years, especially since the Littlins came along, I’ve struggled to keep up with the housework. I feel like the house is always a tip and, worse, dirty.
Oh how I wish I could afford a cleaner!
Well, the other day I may have stumbled upon a solution: I still can’t afford a cleaner and I’m pretty time-poor too. Talking to my BFF we realised we are in the same boat. We both struggle to keep up with anything except the bare minimum of housework. The other day she was helping me catch up on some chores and we realised it’s much more fun to do it together…and we don’t mind the other seeing the worst corners of our house.
We made a Cleaning Pact.
Our cleaning pact means we are going to spend 2 hours at her house, 2 hours at my house each week. We’ll work as a team while the Littlins, hopefully, play together or sleep.
We reckon 1 + 1 = 3 in this case. The dedicated time, not doing it alone, not being able to duck out of the task all should help both of us get a more organised, clean and tidy house.
What do you think? Could you imagine teaming up with someone for a cleaning pact?

An interesting concept .. Hope it works
I love this idea in theory, but finding someone to actually commit to it like I would is near impossible in my social circle. Though I, like you, procrastinate when it comes to cleaning, I’m still considered too ambitious about what is considered “clean” to keep my friends motivated (did I mention that most of my friends without a cleaning service are male)? Then their lack of energy starts to play on my lack of energy… I suppose I could just get new friends, but again- energy. If only, if only, if only…
