Mumonthebrink blog is 3 years old!
Three years ago I felt quite low, but determined to get out of a rut. As a former knowledge manager, creator of communities of practice, I was fascinated by social media and blogging, but wasn’t sure I understood the ins and outs. I decided to take a plunge and experience it for myself.
Not in a million years did I think that I’d still be writing my blog, and enjoying it too, three years on.
You see the biggest challenge for me has been the writing itself. I have always HATED writing. It was by far my weakest side throughout my education, it’s where I always fell down, struggled.
Well, I’ve done it! I’m still here and that, my dear Reader, is because of you! I relish the support, the opinions, the inspiration I get from family and friends far and wide- lots who I have made since blogging, so many I haven’t ever met in person. To you, I say:

Over the past years I’ve blogged about so many things. I try to blog from the heart, from inspiration, from a little point inside me that enthuses me.
My most popular post to date has been the one about a pink princess castle birthday cake that my friend and I made for her lovely daughter, followed by the one of the Lightning McQueen birthday cake that Hugo got for his 3rd birthday.
My reviews have been quite popular- the one about the Hotpoint washing machine and the Kiddy car seat especially- and I pride myself in saying it as it is. If I review it, believe me, the product will be put through its paces and my write up will be honest.
The most commented on post (asided from any that asked for comments for competition purposes) has been where I told you how I peed on a stick; the most commented on picture has been this capture of Max, a piano and sun flare, one that has deep meaning to me beyond what I can express in writing.
Last year lots supported me through my weight loss journey and fund raising for the Lullaby Trust. I had so much support when I publicly failed at my target.
Over the past years one of my favourite posts to write was about a Grand Adventure: how I’d spend £1000 to have an adventure of a lifetime. I loved the thinking and the research I put into this, and ultimately, I loved the adventures it has actually led us to, many still to come.
Keep an eye on the blog for 2014- this year we will be camping and caravanning on a shoestring, building an eco granny annexe and having lots of interesting and educational outings. Hope you can share some of these with us in person or as very valued readers.

Oh, wow! 3 years?! Well, I for one am very grateful that you started blogging because that is how we met 😉
Just a thought, though. If you dislike writing so much, why not make vlogs?
Yikes! That scares me even more than blogging itself. I hate speaking in front of an audience- even if it is indirectly through a camera.
