Max got his first shoes a couple of weeks ago from our lovely friend Natalie.
It was time! My littlest, now 11 months, is standing, cruising more and more and has taken the odd random step. Not having shoes was holding me back from going on walks with him when he wasn’t asleep. It seemed cruel to take him out to the playground with Hugo and Angelina playing, running around and Max just confined to a pushchair.
Socks just didn’t cut it either, not even thick ones with rubber grips on the soles. For one they hardly ever stay on long enough!
These shoes, miraculously, stay on for the duration of an outing. They are soft and, according to Natalie, who is a bit of a shoe and foot development expert, they are as close to a barefoot experience as possible. I like that idea! … if I could, I’d be barefoot all the time.
Oh those bare feet! I love kissing the soles of Max’s bare feet! He giggles each time.
With the new shoes we are finding new ways to replace some of those barefooted giggles: When just out of reach and he comes to take a step away from what he’s holding onto, launches at mummy with a giggle as I catch him and scoop him up.
New shoes, new adventures ahead, as his new shoes will caress his delicate little feet from baby feet to toddler feet.
How has time flown so fast? It seems like just yesterday he was born!
So cute x
