Guest blogging guidelines

We accept guest posts on this site and we get a LOT of approaches. If you want us to accept your proposal make sure you read these guidelines.

Links for Bloggers*

If you’d like a link back to an article on your blog that’s fine: To bloggers, we offer one link back per thousand words of content.

* We consider a blog, a site run by a single individual, who we know of or comes recommended through our blogging networks and who creates most of their content themselves.

Links for Companies

I have some additional requirements for companies.

  • We accept ONE relevant link back per article (feel free to include a list of other suggested links)
  • We do not accept links for casinos, outline gambling and any activities which are illegal in parts of the world.

Costs for companies

We do charge for hosting commercial links and all paid content will be marked according to our disclosure policy. The charge is £120 for copyediting, sharing of a post including one do follow link.

If you want us to write an article the cost is £180 for copywriting, sharing of a post including one do-follow link.

Photos

Only include photos with your submission that you own the copyright for.

What we are looking for…

We are looking for posts of 1200+ words.

We accept submissions on family lifestyle, small space living, small space interiors, urban gardening, eco living, outdoor gear and pursuits and family travel.

  1. The stories have to have a point
  2. They need to be written in an informal tone, with impeccable British English
  3. Each post is to be written to a pre-agreed template of given subheadings
  4. The contents submitted should not have appeared elsewhere, we will Copyscape check!

How to get rejected

  • Lie to us. Tell us that you loved reading a post that you blatantly haven’t read.
  • Have poor English in your pitch.
  • Get your facts wrong- we will fact check!
  • Be generic. Be vague.
  • Have bad writers. If you don’t have a good writer you can hire us to write the article: £180

What to pitch

  • Look at the topics covered on the blog: family lifestyle, small space living, small space interiors, urban gardening, eco living, outdoor gear and pursuits and family travel.
  • Don’t come with a vague and generic list
  • Include keyword research that shows why the post will be good for the blog

Demonstrate that you’ve read the instructions. Include the password “I can follow instructions” as the first line of your reply or don’t expect to hear back… we’re serious!

Submission

You can submit a proposal via email to mumonthebrink {at} gmail {dot} com.
