Have I driven you to the brink yet with my dilemma of what mobile phone upgrade I’m going to get? …You’ve fallen asleep with boredom really, haven’t you?!
Well after going through the research, finding out all the tedious details of today’s top runners, even doing a vlog to make the choice a bit light-hearted. BTW- Thank you to all those who voted in my previous post on the subject!
Here is my choice (in 17 seconds):
Do you know what swayed it? (Besides my picture on the phone, of course, …not that I’m vain in any way!!!) It was the 16 GB memory, the super slimness & lightness of the handset and the promise of supersonic speeds.
You know the feeling of going from a high to a crash-landing, well that’s what happened: No sooner had I made the decision to upgrade, so did T-Mobile: they did a u-turn on their offer of upgrading me at my current contract rate (nearly £40). Now it would cost me an extra £8 a month. That’s a whopping + £144 over the term of the contract! i don’t know where that “small” fact got lost, maybe I didn’t hear it in my enthusiasm, maybe the upgrades guy got too enthusiastic and offered more than he was allowed. Who knows?! My main reason for being pissed off is the time I wasted on researching the phones out there, short-listing, asking around about opinions in my circles.
I generally like T-mobile and their customer service, love my price plan (even if I do pay a lot for it and not always use the full allowance), but this was a below the belt hit.
So now I’ve decided to go full circle and go for the additional loyalty discount from T Mobile instead: Saving me £12 a month (… or so they say- I will eagerly await my next bill to actually see what materialises of this promise), giving T-mobile less revenue and giving my trusty old friend the HTC Desire some love (and a new battery and bigger SD card).
… and who knows I might get me a tablet from the money saved.
Which company are you with, do they take good care of you and appreciate your loyalty? 😉
