Welcome to the temporary home of the Wot so Funee link up of blog posts. A one week only special!
I arm-wrestled the Wot so Funee linky from Actually Mummy for a cunning plan; then that cunning plan evaporated before it was even put into motion. Oh well…next time!
However, I thought it would still be fun to host the link up of blog posts about the funny things our children say, do or write this week. I have a tough week ahead of solo parenting my brood, so I can surely use a laugh hopping around the other posts.
I don’t know about you, but we have some real corkers from the Littlins. Unfortunately, I don’t write them down as often as I should. I am so glad I did record this one though:
The other day we were having fish fingers for dinner.
Dadonthebrink and I had read a couple of weeks ago about the extraordinary number, something like 1 in 3, kids thinking fish fingers are made of chicken and cheese grows on a plant. Dadonthebrink and I both have agricultural backgrounds, with Dadonthebrink actually having grown up on a farm, we were shocked and saddened by these statistics. We quickly dismissed the possibility that our children wouldn’t know.
We couldn’t, however, resist asking them:
Dadonthebrink: “What are fishfingers made of?“
Angelina, with her wise age of 6, said- “Well fish of course!” – indignant that we would even assume she didn’t know; and carried on eating this rare treat. (I’m usually too
stingy budget-conscious to buy prepared food).
Hugo’s reply- “Fish!” -,
then he hesitated slightly,- “….and fingers!“- proudly.
Dadonthebrink wanted to clarify and held up his hand, outstretched fingers- ” My fingers?“- he smiled thinking Hugo was just joking.
Hugo- “No Silleeeeeeee! That of the dead!” – giggling at how smart he was.
We didn’t go into detail of dead person or dead animal. Ewww! 4 year old little boys and their gory minds, hey? (Snot, farts, insects, worms and fingers dead or a live.) Change of topic quickly!!!
Do your little ones have weird ideas about where their food comes from? Please do share these and other funny moments of your little ones and not so little ones!
