In light of recent events, let me reassure you first of all we are talking about a different kind of explosion than the Boston one. This explosion isn’t too sinister, just a minor assault against your senses.
Max woke ever so cheerfully; he slept thought the night for the first time in at least a week. Teething you see.
A breastfeed, a cuddle and then some cheekiness followed by tickles. He’s practicing getting off our bed forwards and backwards… Today it was a purposeful tumble backwards on to a well- placed pile of laundry.
He danced holding the edge of the bed.
Dadonthebrink took him into his lap. Max sat and smiled. We talked.
Then we heard it: a massive, drawn out, juicy ra-ta-ta-ta from Max’s bottom region. Followed by….a huge giggle by a contented baby! Seriously! Imagine a Baby Jake style hearty giggle!
…Max is now splashing happily in his tummy tub. Dadonthebrink just reported back without me even asking- ” It was massive… but all contained! That’s a pretty good nappy!”
A baby’s giggle will lift the worst of situations, whatever nastiness awaits, don’t you think?
Moments are my way of capturing those snapshots in time of pure happiness. I’m bottling them. 🙂
