The other day a friend was saying how she’d run out of time for getting Christmas presents for her family and ended up going to her local gardening centre to get her shopping done; despite her family not being huge on gardening. She didn’t get them much garden related presents, but rather novel things that she thought they’d appreciate. I was surprised, as I haven’t been to a garden centre in years for a good wander, just a quick dash in for something specific and had never thought of them as shopping place for things other than garden and plant related.
Interestingly that same day Notcutts, the garden centre people, got in touch whether I would be able to review a set of their new LED lights. I accepted the offer, as I LOVE fairy lights, especially at Christmas. (I do try to find excuses for having them out at other times of the year too.) A couple of days later a package arrived and in it a plastic box. I thought to myself- what a waste: such a small bundle of lights in such a large box!
Then I took the neatly bundled lights out and strung them out – boy it was a looong string of lights! Contained in the box is a set of 200 Warm White LED Chaser Lights on almost 14m of cable. Plugging it in, the lights sprung into action and on top of the base functions, there is a little controller box, which let you choose different illumination patterns. I really like this string of lights!
As we don’t traditionally decorate till Christmas Eve I put the lights back into the box…well OK, I might have played with the different sequences and admired the lights for a couple of hours before I actually did it. And as I packed the lights away, the size of the box suddenly made sense: there is no need to mess about try to squeeze them in. The box is a perfect size keeping the lights safe to be reused year after year and it won’t fall to pieces like paper boxes do.
Did I mention these lights are suitable for indoor and outdoor use? Well, they are.
Notcutts have this 200 LED chaser light string on sale for £19.99, pretty good value for what feel like pretty good quality lights. The other reason you’ll like taking these out year after year is these lights, being LEDs, will save you a fair bit compared to running the equivalent non-LED lights, not to mention with traditional lights you are always replacing little bulbs.
So a thumbs up for this set of lights from me and we will definitely enjoy having them on our tree over the Christmas period and many to come hopefully.
The good news is I have twisted the arm of the lovely folks at Notcutts and they have kindly offered another set for me to give away to one of my readers as a thank you for reading my blog. All you have to do is
